Before reading the Vignelli Canon, I never really thought about how important typography, semantics, size, etc. is to graphic design. People only see the finished product of graphic design: they don’t see the hours and hours of work the designer put into the final product.
Reading the canon, reading the Stranger Things (which I am obsessed with at the moment) article, and looking at the making of movie titles made me realize that so much goes into graphic design. Every tiny detail, from the title to the font used to the balance of colors, is so important to the final product. Although an audience might not notice the little details, it is not finished without them. Adding small details might be time consuming, but it is worth it overall.
